Connections Lab @ NJIT
2018-2019
The Connections Lab at New Jersey Institute of Technology is a design and research lab centering on the areas of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Human-Centered Computing (HCC) and utilizing Design Thinking and User Experience (UX) Design methods to advance technological innovations that address users’ needs and support them in achieving their goals.
During my time, we focused on research, design & development of a Collaborative Life-Logging system, and had begun initial work for publications with CSCW and CHI.
Collaborative Life-Logging System
A CLL system supports collaborative data capture for life-logging and memory support.
“Data capture” can refer to photos, videos, audio, fitness statistics, geographical location, contextual or situational information, and more.
Collaborative data capture brings together data from multiple sources and perspectives.
We were working towards a collaborative life-logging system that supports mutliple memory processes. The two most important we focused on were…
Episodic Memory: Being able to mentally relive an experience
Autobiographical Reminiscing: Recall of facts or other information about events
